Koh Samui killing was Israeli gangland revenge

BOTH the Israeli murder suspects  and the Israeli man they brutally murdered at Koh Samui on Sunday and his injured companion are members of rival Mafia gangs in Israel and the killing stemmed from a turf war  there, Thai News Agency reported yesterday (Jan. 22).

The deceased Israeli man, Maor Mallil, 34, and had just been released from jail after serving a 20-month sentence for attempted murder and had come here on a holiday with Miss  Rachael Osana, 31, but the suspects, Dolev Zuarez, 24, and Eval Bokal, 26, found out and them here.

Pol. Col. Krisana Pattanacharoen, a deputy spokesman at the National Police headquarters, said the deceased man and his companion were members of a Mafia gang in Israel and there was a fierce conflict of interest with a rival Mafia gang.

This matches information obtained by Pol Gen Veerachi Songmetta, spokesman at National Police headquarters, who said the conflict between the two Israeli Mafia gangs stemmed from benefits, drugs and influence in Israel.

The two Israeli suspects are being held under warrants for premeditated murder and have now been taken to Surat Thani province. They had driven a car and hit a motorcycle ridden by Maor and Rachael, and when they fell, they backed and zoomed up again and hit them a second time. They then used a knife to stab Maor to death.

Earlier Surat Thani police checked the area behind International School of Tourism Koh Samui where they found a bag which the two suspects had thrown in a bush. Within it was a black T-shirt, underpants, a pair tennis shoes, a key card to a hotel, 3 fruit knives and membership cards to an airline with the suspects’ names on it.
