A 26-year-old man in the northern Thai province of Sukhothai died yesterday (May 27, 2019) after eating raw pork with spices, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported.
The man’s death prompted provincial public health official Barirak Lappanakul to issue a public warning against eating uncooked pork.
According to Dr. Barirak, the death was caused by Streptococcus suis bacteria which are found in the nose and mouth of a pig.
