A LARGE batch of mislabeled face masks was seized from a famous store on Rama 9 road in a raid carried out early this morning (Sept. 4, 2018), INN News reported.
Pol Capt. Amarin Lertawad, deputy inspector of Consumer Protection Police Division 4, and his team of police officers reached the store at the time when the supermarket had already opened.
They asked to check products displayed for sale and found that a famous brand of face masks, which were already placed on the shelves, had been mislabeled.
The supermarket’s supervisor was told that doing this is against the law, and she ordered the staff to remove the whole lot which were first checked and counted and then seized by the police for further legal action.
Checking the mislabeling of products is a policy Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Prawit Wongsuwan.
Yesterady over 1 billion baht worth of counterfeit goods and those carrying fake trademarks were destroyed at Army Air Defense Command and the crackdown will continue nationwide.
