Mongolian pickpocket gang arrested

FOR the first time ever Tourist Police have arrested a gang of Mongolian pickpockets who mainly targeted foreign tourists and are expanding investigation to arrest their accomplices and also blacklist them, INN News reported this afternoon (Aug. 2, 2018).

Pol Maj-Gen Surachet Hakphan, deputy chief of Tourist Police, accompanied by 191 and Patumwan police station officers told the press that this gang of 4 Mongolians, who mainly hunted at city center train stations, was led by Mr Inderma Kanma (name translated as written in Thai).

Seized from them were some stolen goods and cash worth altogether 200,000 baht.

This Mongolian gang had divided up their duties in hunting for victims, especially foreign tourists, and aside from train stations were active at tourist centers and department stores.

They made fake ID cards to match credit cards they had stolen to fool shopkeepers and bought a lot of things which they took home, police said.
