Monk arrested selling guns online.

A monk has been arrested for selling guns online. The suspect makes some of the guns stating the internet taught him how to do it. Police Lieutenant General Samran Nuanma and related officials reported the arrest of monk Warnop Ruengjai 56 years old on 23 July 2022. Police also found evidence including customized guns and other weapons. He also has bullets and equipment used to customize the guns. The monk was arrested inside a temple in Ayutthaya Province on the 22nd at 6.30 pm. 

 

Investigation police found information about a seller offering gun customization services online. Most of the guns were only models or blank guns, the monk would make these guns actually functionable. He also sold parts for the guns. The suspect had sent a parcel to a man named Polpol 2 times with an address in the same province. The number used to ship the boxes were connected to the monk. He also used his real address for customers to send their guns to. Evidence was collected and a search warrant was issued. The police then went to the temple and found the monk. Inside his bedroom on the second floor was a lot of evidence. 

 

The monk admitted that he was the owner of all the guns. He would fix and customize guns for customers.  In the temple were many types of guns some small and some bigger guns. He loved guns and started learning from internet about how to customize and fix guns. He joined a Facebook page and the admin has been helping him find customers. Before becoming a monk he was a security guard and had some education background as a technician. The monk has been delivered to the police station waiting for prosecution.
