Narathiwat shuts border with Malaysia over Covid-19

Narathiwat Provincial Governor Ekkarat Leesen signed an order early this morning (March 23, 2020) barring people and vehicles from passing through the three Thai-Malaysian border passes, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported.

The order, which took effect at 5.00 a.m., is aimed at preventing the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) into Thailand.

As of this morning, there were 11 Thais affected with Covid-19 in Narathiwat province.
