New evidence emerges in Brit teen rape claim

NEW evidence has been uncovered in the 19-year-old British teenager’s claim that she was drugged and raped on Koh Tao on June 26 this year with police finding out that she went to a pharmacy that night and could have bought and taken some medicine, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported this morning (Sept. 10, 2018).

Pol Maj-Gen Surachet Hakphan, deputy chief of Tourist Police, said the British teenager went to the pharmacy with a young man and could have taken medicine that made her feel groggy.

He also questioned why the teenager did not contact the British Honorary Consul for the Surat Thani area if she did not trust Thai police.

Police here are currently waiting for their British counterparts to send a report of their questioning of the teenager and the evidence she claims she has with her. It is expect that this will reach Thailand by the end of this month.
