A SPOKESMAN for the National Police headquarters said today (Nov. 16) that news of the National Police Chief having resigned is just a hot topic for discussion right now and all senior commanders are still doing their duties to protect the lives and property of the general public normally Thai News Agency reported.
Pol. Gen. Virachai Thongmetta, acting deputy national police chief and spokesman for the National Police headquarters, said news reported in various media that Pol. Gen. Chakthip Chaijinda had resigned from his position as the National Police Chief to take up other positions is just a topic much talked about right now and there is no change with the National Police Chief and Deputy National Police Chiefs all doing their duties normally.
Pol .Gen. Virachai added that everyone at the National Police headquarters is united in taking care of public safety especially so during Pol. Gen. Chakthip’s current overseas trip with Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Chalermkiat Sriworakhan told to act on his behalf.
Regarding an urgent circular to all police units to follow the behavior of certain groups of people after information was obtained that they are stirring up the masses to drive out this government, Pol. Gen. Virachai said the public should give police time to investigate this information because as yet no reports have been received.
