TWENTY-TWO villagers in Mae Moh village in the northern Thai province of Lampang were evacuated this afternoon (Oct. 16) after a landslide caused their houses to sink, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.
Members of the nine families fled in panic after their homes shook and began to sink around 2 pm. One house sank two meters.
About 12.5 rai of land (20,000 square meters) was affected. Provincial officials have yet to identify the cause of the landslide.
