A 25-year-old drug trafficker in the northeastern province of Buriram has been arrested for hiring a nine-year-old schoolboy to deliver methamphetamine pills to his clients, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported yesterday (3 Nov 2020).
Police found the boy, who is in Grade 2 of a local school, fishing in a canal. They searched him and found 5 meth pills in his trouser pocket. The boy said he was paid between 100 and 300 baht to deliver the meth pills.
The drug trafficker also gave him two meth pills to consume when they met.
According to Khao Sod, the boy is living with his grandmother, after his parents were imprisoned for drug trafficking.
