Forensics officers yesterday (June 3, 2019) visited the world-famous Chatuchak weekend market to find out the cause of Sunday’s huge fire which destroyed a total of 120 shops, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported.
There were no reports of injuries as the fire broke out at about 9 p.m. after the market had already closed.
Witnesses said they saw the flames and heard sporadic explosions in Zone 25. About 20 fire trucks were sent to the scene and firefighters took about an hour and a half to bring the blaze under control.
