THE owner of a resort in north-central Phetchabun province which a young man had pinpointed as being the place where a sex videotape was secretly filmed is selling up because almost all his clients have disappeared, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (August 15, 2018).
At the same time Sanook.com said that Mr Ton (assumed name), 34, was bailed out for 10,000 baht last evening after he retracted his accusation that he was secretly filmed having sex with his girlfriend there and this clip was spread among a secret Twitter group.
While there were reports that the suspect was so stressed out he was banging his head on the cell wall, Phetchabun city police station said this did not happen but the suspect was stressed, he was walking up and down the cell and rocking himself back and forth against the cell’s grill door.
Meanwhile Mr Lertpong Pongwaraphat, 78, the owner of the resort where the sex tape was supposed to have been secretly filmed, said this incident has had a bad impact, and because most of his clients had disappeared, he was now selling it together with 10 shophouses in front for 70 million baht.
Regarding the legal action against the young man who made the false accusation, he said he would leave it to the authorities to handle it but he was annoyed that he was bailed out for only 10,000 baht.
“I am not selling the resort out of a whim, but because I am really angry at this vile accusation.
“Earlier in 2016 I had announced it for sale at 100 million baht, and an interested party bid 70 million baht, but I decided not to sell,” he said.
He added that he did not know the suspect before this incident but found out that he worked at a bank as driver and he himself was also a client of this very bank.
