Villagers regretted the day they joined a papaya salad (somtam) party in the neighborhood and returned with Covid-19. An employee in an entertainment business revealed that there was a food party that took place in Soi 10 Fuengfah Village, Samut Prakan Province that resulted in new infections. Police Major General Yingyod Thepjamnong the police spokesperson revealed on 26 April 2021 at 13.00. The information was first revealed on a Facebook page named “Samut Prakan News V2” in Thai.
The post stated to keep an eye on the Fuengfah Cluster located in Soi Mangkorn where at least 10 have been infected. The number is expected to rise while Samut Prakan officials still remain silent and have not published the timeline of the Covid-19 patients. Police Colonel Termras Jindawat from Samut Prakan Police and other related officials traveled to the village. They discovered a pink house in Soi 10 and met a 37-year-old man who lives in the home. The man stated there are 4 persons living in the home, this includes the wife and 2 children.
The mother of the 37-year-old man tested positive for Covid-19 and is receiving medical care at the Samut Prakan Hospital since 25 April. All 4 living in the home have no symptoms and they have tried getting Covid-19 tests. But because none have symptoms the hospital asked them to wait. The 37-year-old man believes his mother was infected after dining with neighbors. There are now 14 Covid-19 cases in the village. It is believed the first case started with someone who works at an entertainment business and resides in the village. This person then joined a papaya salad party with the neighbors.
