A plot to ‘kill’ Pheu Thai Party?

THE Pheu Thai Party (PTP) is facing another grave crisis today (May 19. 2018) when a group of lawyers under the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) filed four charges against its seven leading members in the morning, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported.

The seven politicians are Wirote Pao-in, Poomtham Vejjayachai, Jaturon Chaisaeng, Chusak Sirinil, Wattana Muangsook, Noppapol Pattama and Chaikasem Nitisiri.

They are accused of the following offences:

Political analysts told Matichon that the charges may lead to a dissolution of the PTP.

“Without the PTP, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will certainly return to Government House after the next general election,” said one analyst.
