PM Prayut keeps mum on Yingluck’s escape

WHILE refusing to discuss the escape of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra today (August 30), Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha did say the situation in the country has improved and everything is peaceful now, according to INN News .

Regarding Ms Yingluck fleeing overseas General Prayut, who is also head of National Council for Peace and Order, pointed out that Army Chief  General Chalermchai Sitthisad had already explained everything.

Significantly Premier Prayut said that everything is moving well and the situation in the country is improving.

A key pointer, he said, is that the stock market digital board was all green yesterday and this is something that does  not occur often.

He added that he would like this to be continuously so because if there is peace and stability in the country and no political problems then everything will be still and this leads to peace.

The Prime Minister also talked about Rohinyas fleeing the fighting in Myanmar to Thailand, saying normal preparations are being made.

He added that they would be sent back to ensure safety because Thailand does not want to get involved with problems in Myanmar

While the Prime Minister will be meeting the Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces Senior General Min Aung Hlaing this afternoon he pointed out that this visit is not being made to discuss the Rohinya issue but if there is an opportunity he would ask him about it.

Regarding preparations for an upcoming visit to US at the invitation of US President Donald Trump the Prime Minister said both sides have to be ready for this visit but so far everything is proceeding as planned in October this year.
