PM Prayut orders hunt for Yingluck

PRIME Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha ordered security agencies to find former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra and ascertain whether she is really sick, Thai News Agency said today (August 25).

General Prayut also ordered tight control of all exit routes from the country both normal and natural channels.

The Prime Minister said the report he got on the issuing of an arrest warrant for Ms Yingluck by the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office is that she asked for a postponement in the handing down of the verdict because she was sick but this was refused and an arrest warrant was issued instead.

However Prime Minister Prayut added that this has nothing to do with him because he did not issue any orders to the justice process.

General Prayut also said that he does not know whether Ms Yingluck is in Thailand or not but he has ordered officials to follow the case but right now he does not have anything to reveal.
