PM Prayut reaches Pattani despite bad weather

HEAVY rain all morning did not deter Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and other cabinet ministers from reaching southern Pattani province, where he is opening a new livestock market and checking the security, Thai News Agency reported today (Nov. 27).

The bad weather forced the landing of the Prime Minister’s plane at Hat Yai airport in Songkhla province instead of Bor Thong Airport at Pattani’s Nong Chik district.

Despite the non-stop rain, the atmosphere at the new Central Livestock Market of Southern Border Provinces was lively, with residents of this district, and around 3,000 from other districts, awaiting the Prime Minister’s arrival to preside over the opening ceremony.

This new market, which is open on Fridays, is a big trading and exchange point for farmers who can bring their livestock, such as goat and betong chicken, and other products, such as cow’s milk, to trade.

Private and community enterprises will also be selling processed products such as Total Mixed Ration (TMR) for goats and cattle.

His next stop in Pattani is a visit to Palm Pattana Southern Border Company Ltd to see agricultural processing, after which he will be checking security in this southern border province, particularly the progress of the “Triangle of Stability, Prosperity, and Sustainability” project.

Tomorrow he will be presiding over a mobile cabinet meeting in Songkhla.
