PM Prayut tells Thais in Australia to be his eyes and ears

AT the tail end of his visit to Australia Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha urged Thais residing there to be on the lookout for people roaming around that area but not to worry about the situation in the country as it has improved, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (March 19).

Talking to around 60 Thais residing in Australia at the end of the Australia-Asean summit, Gen. Prayut thanked them for spreading Thai culture and disseminating information about Thailand, mentioning that although they are now Australian citizens, they should not forget about Thailand.

The Prime Minister added that the chaos in the country has decreased substantially ever since he took over the helm; with his government having resolved a lot of problems and laid down a structure which will be clearly visible in 4-5 years’ time.

“With me managing things in the country there is no need to worry, but help watch out for those straying in this area, however I am not talking about anyone one person.

“Over the past 4 years I haven’t rested, haven’t gone anywhere at all, just work and go home according to the schedule, no rest on weekend too, don’t go anywhere with my wife,” he said.

Prime Minister Prayut added that in June he will call all political parties to a meeting and will ask them what steps they have in mind to develop the country.

As he sees it, in future the opposition and the government will walk in tandem and be linked together to fairly resolve the public’s problems.

He urged the audience to have confidence in him because his decision to become the Prime Minister arose from chaotic conditions in 2014 with weapons already being collected, and that is why he had to step in a stop both sides.
