PM Prayut: VAT not being increased, no water tax

PRIME Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha today (Oct.9) confirmed value added tax (VAT) is not being increased nor a water tax being imposed as earlier mentioned by ill-intentioned people who distorted the issues, INN News reported.

While refusing to discuss politics, General Prayut said during his recent trips to US and Brunei some people tried to create a problem by spreading distorted information that VAT will be rising to 9% from October 1, 2018 but he confirmed this tax is not being hiked.

Likewise no water tax is being imposed following the passage of the water resources bill, General Prayut said, adding that those who distorted this issue have garbage in their minds.

Gen. Prayut also said that while the government is doing its best  there are a lot of problems however if everyone understands and cooperates then these issues can be tackled well.

Regarding the Welfare Card for the poor, the Prime Minister said it had been issued for millions of people but there were problems with only a few thousand of these cards and to ensure that there were no errors whatsoever was not possible because this card had never been issued before.

However Gen. Prayut is confident that all the problems related to this card will be resolved.
