PM Prayut: Yingluck’s accounts frozen not seized

PRIME Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said today (July 26) that former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s assets have been frozen and not seized by the Legal Execution Department as a preparatory step for the upcoming verdict, according to Thai News Agency.

However Premier Prayut also warned the department’s officials to be careful about giving out information to the public because otherwise they would be seen to be harassing the former premier.

Regarding coping with the public traveling to give moral support to Ms Yingluck on August 25 when the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions hands down its verdict on the rice-pledging case,  Prime Minister Prayut asked why this case getting so much importance when there are many significant cases in the month of August.
The Premier added that he never said whether Ms Yingluck is right or wrong because it is for the court to decide.

“But I would like to tell those coming to give moral support not to do anything that violates judicial authority.

“Those encouraging people to come should be careful because they might be breaking the law on maintaining peace and order or some might break the computer laws by posting wrong information,” he said.
