Two twin sons of a Thai police officer were arrested last night and charged with trafficking methamphetamine pills, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported yesterday (23 Jan 2021).
Thai soldiers and Border Patrol Police (BPP) stopped a car driven by the two 20-year-old twins around 9.00 p.m. last night. They searched the car and found 2,000 meth pills in four containers.
The first twin said he was contacted by a Mon person, who told him to fetch meth pills from Phaya Tongsoo Village in Myanmar. A Myanmar man later took him across the border to a temple, where he received 2,000 meth pills.
According to Matichon, the two twins are the sons of a Thai police officer who had served in Sangkhla Buri and Thong Phapoom districts in Kanchanaburi. He is now working at the Office of Police Region 9.
