Police refuse to take legal action against pedophile
PEOPLE in Phothong Village of Buri Ram province are furious after police investigators refused to take legal action against a 61-year-old pedophile who tried to rape a nine-year-old girl, Sanook.com reported today (August 30).
The girl and her friend were walking in the village when the old man asked them to go with him to the town district on his motorcycle. The girls agreed after he gave each of them 300 baht.
As they reached a sugarcane plantation, the man took one of the girls into the plantation and tried to rape her. Sugarcane workers heard her cry for help and rushed to the scene, causing him to flee.
The girl’s parents went to the local police station, but the officer on duty refused to file charges against the suspect, according to Sanook.com.
