A TEAM of soldiers and police raided pubs in Sukhumvit soi 3 and Thonglor 5 and found one of them full of both Thais and foreign tourists smoking water-pipes which are called baraku in Thailand and across the world also called hubbly-bubbly, hookah or shisha, Thai News Agency said today (April 17).
They also arrested the pub’s caretaker who they said admitted to offering water-pipe service to tourists and knew that this was illegal.
He was taken to Lumpini police station for further questioning and faces charges of selling, renting and acquiring through various means water-pipe products, having in his possession water-pipes or e-cigarettes and substances used to flavor the water used in water-pipes.
