Police: Woman tourist’s death linked to love affair

POLICE believe that the death of a Chinese woman tourist at Ton Nga Chang waterfall in Hat Yai district of southern Songkhla province was linked to a love affair and have already arrested 1 of 2 suspects, Sanook.com reported today (Sept. 30, 2018).

Pol Maj-Gen Surachet Hakphan, deputy chief of Tourist Police, said investigation both at the scene of the death of Miss Lei Tian, 28, at the first level of this waterfall on September 20 and forensic examination confirmed that she was definitely murdered.

Tests revealed that the deceased woman had died before she drowned and police are certain the cause would have been a love affair.

Police also think more than one suspect was involved in this woman’s death, and have so far arrested Mr Hai Long Chao according to the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 and have withdrawn his visa.

The other suspect has already flown back to China and police have asked the Chinese embassy for more information about the dead woman to quickly take legal action against both suspects.

They are certain that within 2 weeks there would have collected enough evidence to start legal action against both the suspect who has been arrested and the one who has returned to his homeland.
