DIVERS in Rayong searched for a 20-year-old young man dragged into the sea by powerful waves for five hours without finding him with one of them even getting injured while doing so, Thai News Agency said today (July 18).
Rescuers from Sawang Porn Kusol Foundation and divers from Rayong municipality searched for the missing young man at Saeng Chan Beach after he was pulled into the sea by powerful waves yesterday afternoon.
The search was carried out with a lot of difficulty amid fierce wind and strong one-meter high waves and it was called off at 9 pm last night after one of the rescuers broke his ankle when the waves pushed him against some rocks.
The drowned youth, Anusorn Dornkanha, 20, had gone for a stroll on the beach with four friends and after drinking some beer went into the sea even though it was very rough and he was tragically dragged into deeper waters.
Ms Nath Chunukaew, the mother of the young man, said after she found out her son had drowned she immediately returned to Rayong and also mentioned that she saw her son in her dream and he said “my mom your son bids good bye.”
Montri Chanachaiwibulwat, deputy governor of Rayong, said right now it’s the monsoon season and the waves and sea wind are quite fierce therefor tourists visiting seaside resorts must be careful about their safety to prevent any danger.
