PRIME Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha met his British counterpart Theresa May at 10 Downing Street soon after arriving in London yesterday (June 20, 2018) with the British leader saying negotiations will be starting on establishing Thai-British Free Trade Agreement (FTA), INN News reported today (June 21, 2018).
The British leader also said she has confidence in Thailand 4.0 policy and is willing to support British private sector to invest and develop the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
May also told Gen Prayut that she has been following Thai political and economic developments closely and is certain that Thailand is moving towards a strong democracy.
Meanwhile Gen Prayut praised May for being a strong leader and able to obtain the best conditions for UK in talks on separating from European Union.
He added that the Global Britain policy which upholds free trade is a good opportunity for UK to enhance trade with other countreis both within Europe and other continents.
Gen Prayut also raised the issue of education which Thailand wants to join hands with UK in developing for further progress of the country and as a mechanism to drive economic growth.
