Quack doctor’s medicine draws thousands

MORE than 10,000 people from around Thailand descended on the home of a quack doctor in Prachin Buri Province this morning (Nov. 5) to receive free bottles of herbal medicine that they believe will rid them of cancer, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.

The patients – who included judges, doctors, civil servants, the poor and the wealthy – queued up to receive a bottle of medicine from Mr Saengchai Haelerttrakoon and his friends. The last patient left after more than two hours.

Mr Saengchai said he received the herbal formula from a Cambodian quack doctor. He first experimented with stray dogs, which regained their health after taking the medicine. His daughter also recovered from cancer after taking the drug.

“I will submit my medicine to the Public Health Ministry for proper checking,” he added. “If it turned out well, it will benefit a large number of people.”
