SCATTERED rainfall failed to deter mourners in southern Nakhon Si Thammarat province from offer sandalwood flowers during Royal Cremation ceremony at the replica of the crematorium in honor of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej today (Oct. 26), INN News said reported.
As of noon around 30,000 people had offered their sandalwood flowers with security being well maintained at 7 checkpoints to the ground in the city where the Royal Cremation ceremony was being held.
Nakhon Si Thammarat Governor Chamlern Thipphongthada presided over the ceremony and was among the first to offer sandalwood flowers and after that mourners steadily flocked in nonstop.
The mourners started coming in at 6 am and by 8 am all 10,000 chairs placed under marquees had been taken with there being lots of people waiting patiently in a long line.
