Hit by drought for the past two weeks, rice farmers in the northeastern Thai province of Kalasin are smiling again after heavy rain has fallen in several districts yesterday (August 11, 2019), the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.
The farmers are also calling on Royal rain-making airplanes to continue their operations to fill up dam reservoirs to help farmers living outside the irrigation system.
“Those outside the irrigation are still at risk,” a farmer told Thai Rath. “So we have asked the rain-making officials to keep monitoring the situation.”
