MEKONG subregion countries are joining an OTOP/SME fair in Khon Kaen arranged by the provincial commerce office with this taking place during April 27 to May 1, 2017 at Khon Kaen University, Thai News Agency said today (April 22);
Aside from distributing OTOP/SME and provincial industrial products, the fair, which is called Khon Kaen – GMS Fair 2017, will also display products with good potential from the six Mekong subregion countries which aside from Thailand are Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and China.
These regional products include traditional Myanmar fabric, silk and accessories from Laos, agar wood and colored stone jewelry from Vietnam and innovative products from China.
On display from Khon Kaen and other parts of Thailand are handicrafts, costume accessories, Khon Kaen silk, hand-woven fabric from various provinces, gold and silver jewelry from the North, herbs, drinks, vegetables, fruits, organic produce and over 300 booths of featured foods.
Moreover there will be an exhibition and dissemination of information about Khon Kaen’s economic potential as well as trade, investment and tourism within the province.\
There will also be folk art performance and shows by nationally-famous artistes as well as sound and light shows everyday of the fair.
