Robot salesman helps Thai woman sell dried fish
DRIVERS passing Kilometer marker 60 on Sukhumvit Road on the way to Bangkok are surprised to see a robot helping a woman sell her dried fish on the roadside.
The Thai-made robot was created by 47-year-old Porntep Poonsawat to attract more customers to buy fish from his wife.
With only Grade 2 education, Porntep consulted a mechanical engineer near his home to invent the metal robot from automobile parts. The human-size creation proved a big hit among neighbors and passers-by, many of whom asked to take photos with robotic salesman, according to the Thai-language Daily News.
