PEOPLE have started flocking to the Royal Thai Navy Convention Hall on the western side of the Chao Phraya River to view a Royal Barge Procession in honor of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and marking 100 days since his passing this evening, Thai News Agency and National News Bureau of Thailand said.
After a demonstration of this ritual on the Chao Phraya River this procession will move to Chuk Same Port in Chon Buri province tomorrow.
On Tuesday (Jan. 17) Deputy Supreme Commander Gen. Supakit Nutstit chaired the official opening of a special event to honor HM the late King wherein military officers and members of the public joined in mass prayers.
Under this event, all Thais were urged to unite and attend a dharma training session at Wat Sam Phraya in Bangkok during January 17-20.
Meanwhile, the Crown Property Bureau has organized a mass ordination to honor the highly-revered Monarch at Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, in which officers from the bureau will take part.
A similar mass ordination of Buddhist monks has also taken place in Phetchabun, Ang Thong and Suphan Buri.
