Royal Crematorium replicas near completion across the country

THROUGHOUT Thailand replicas of the Royal Crematorium being used in the Royal Cremation Ceremony of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, are nearing completion, with most now undergoing final decoration, NNT said today (Oct. 10)

Royal Thai Air Force Commander, ACM Jom Roongsawang, has inspected progress of the Royal Crematorium replica being erected at Dhupateme Sports Stadium, finding that only decoration of its surrounding area remains to be completed. In preparation for the Royal Cremation, the Royal Thai Air Force is to hold a ceremony on October 12 to mark the completion of the construction of the replica.

Governor of Ratchaburi Chayawut Chantara said the construction of a replica in his province’s Wat Mahathatworawiharn is 98 percent complete, with the final touches being put on the decoration and lighting.

Ranong Governor Jatupoj Piyamputra has already led members of his administration and residents of his province in a spiritual rite to anoint their Royal Crematorium replica, which has been set up at Ranong Sports Field.

In Surat Thani, statues of mythical creatures have been completed by artisans from Surat Thani Technical College. They will be taken to the province’s replica crematorium, completing its construction and decoration.

Volunteer artists in Loei province welcomed provincial governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum and have shown him their images of His Majesty the late King. The images will be included in the province’s replica crematorium. The governor gave gift baskets to the artists to encourage them in their work.

Samut Prakan Governor, Chartchai Uthaiphan, meanwhile, has led officials of the province in planting marigolds around the provincial hall. They are to surround the local crematorium replica, which is currently 95 percent complete.

In Bangkok, Governor Pol Gen Assawin Kwanmuang this week received 999,999 sandalwood flowers from the city’s department store operators. The flowers are to be laid at the Royal Crematorium bringing the total of such flowers to an estimated 11 million so far.
