PHUKET police arrested a Russian woman who sat smoking cigarettes and taking selfies in front of a beauty parlour within a popular shopping mall after a short video of her doing so turned into a hot topic online, Thai Rath newspaper said this evening.
“Hor Jang Phuket” webpage shared a 16-second video clip of the 26-year-old Russian woman completely ignoring other shoppers as she sat on the floor of the shopping mall smoking and taking selfies.
This led to a large number of people commenting and criticising her action.
Moreover Wichit police station had also received a complaint from a beauty parlour that a foreign woman had not paid for her hair cut.
When police arrived they saw that aside from smoking and using her mobile phone she was also troubling the other shoppers by cursing at them.
After determining that she was the same person as seen in the video clip, police seized her cigarettes and charged her with threatening, annoying and embarrassing others in a public place and smoking in a place where this is not allowed.
