Six new COVID-19 patients found in Bangkok and Yala

A 64-year-old man in Bangkok and five people in the southern province of Yala are now in hospital for COVID-19 treatment, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported today (May 1, 2020).

The old man became sick after buying food in a wet market in Bangkok. The five southerners were sent to the hospital in Bannang Sata District of Yala after random checks by government officials.

As of today, 2,719 COVID-19 patients have been released from the hospital, and 54 patients have died.
