‘Sorry to say you are stupid’

KHON Kaen Deputy Governor Suchai Boodsara issued a public apology this morning (March 18,) after a public uproar over an invitation letter he signed that contained an offensive remark about the locals, Sanook.com reported.

The letter dated March 12, 2018, which was sent to all senior local officials about an upcoming meeting with the governor, contained a phrase on “how to help local people overcome their stupidity.”

“It was a typo error. The correct phrase should be ‘how to educate local people about globalization,’” said Mr Suchai.

“I have made a public apology, and will find out who made that awful mistake,” he added.
