The Public Disaster Prevention Department (PDPD) is keeping a close watch on a high-pressure wedge in China that may clash with a low-pressure wedge in the northeastern part of Thailand during Songkran Festival 13-17 April, Sanook.com reported yesterday (April 12, 2019).
The clash may cause big storms in the northeastern part of Thailand. Ships and boats sailing in the South China Sea are also advised to keep monitoring the situation, said PDPD Director-General Chayapon Titisak.
The PDPD’s rapid deployment teams are now ready to evacuate people in risky areas, with medical teams on standby.
