Strawberries grown in hotter Northeast region

Yasothorn – While eternally-popular strawberry is considered to be a cold climate fruit and in Thailand mainly grown in Chiang Mai and Chaing  Rai it is hard to believe but nevertheless true that it is also now grow in the Northeastern province of Yasothorn where the average temperature is 26.8 degrees Celcius, Thai News Agency said today (March 2).

According to Tourismthailand.org, strawberry farms in Chiang Mai are very popular with tourists, especially those situated on the uphill road to Doi Ang Khang and those at Mae Sa Meng district. Generally, there are many strawberry farms which open for visitors along the way to Doi (Doi literally means mountain).
