Suthep “at fault” over police station scandal

After almost a decade of investigation, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) (August 6, 2019) voted unanimously to accuse former Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban of committing malfeasance in office in connection with the construction of 396 police stations across the country, innnews reported.

NACC secretary-general Voravit Sukboon said the police station construction caused 1,728 million baht in damages to the National Police Office.

Mr. Voravit said the NACC has wrapped up its investigation and voted unanimously that Mr. Suthep was guilty under Article 157 of the Criminal Law and Article 97 of the Anti-Corruption and Prevention Act.

The decision will be sent to the Supreme Attorney General for further legal action.
