Thai draft law on same-sex marriage

THAILAND’S Justice Ministry is drafting a law to accept same-sex marriage and gender equality, Sanook.com reported.

Addressing a seminar on “Gender Matters” today (July 7, 2018), Justice Minister Prajin Jantong said a draft law on gender equality would be finalized in September and submitted to the Cabinet for approval in December.

If approved, the draft law, which contains 98 articles, will be tabled for a public hearing.

“All people were born equal,” said Mr Prajin. “They must be treated equally and enjoy the same rights and freedom.”
