Thieves use pickup truck to uproot, drag ATM

A COUPLE of brazen thieves drove up to an ATM in southern Krabi resort city on a pickup truck, then attached a cable around it and uprooted from its mount, dragged down the road a meter and left it there after failing to lift it on to the vehicle or pry it open, Thai News Agency reported today (Feb. 25).

Pol. Lt. Col. Chanephob Butkinaree, the deputy head of Krabi police station, said the attempted robbery took place in the middle of last night with this ATM belonging to Siam Commercial Bank, and located in front of a furniture shop opposite a hypermarket.

Police have quickly gathered evidence at the scene of  the crime and are checking CCTV footage both at the scene of the crime and the route the thieves used. They have found out the license plate number of the pickup truck used in this crime and are tracking it down.
