Tourist Police bust foreign criminal networks

TOURIST Police mounted coordinated raids nationwide under its 9th X-Ray Outlaw Foreigner operation and arrested 99 foreigners of various nationalities in 118 swoops, INN News reported this morning (April 26).

Pol Maj Gen Surachet Hakphan, deputy chief of Tourist Police, announced that the latest drive was aimed at breaking up foreign criminal networks within the tourism industry with raids taking place in Pattaya, Hat Yai and Koh Samui, which are important tourist destinations.

Moreover 74 international schools were searched because Africans tend to lurk there as language teachers.

Pol Maj Gen Surachet urged these schools to not help illegal foreigners by applying to change their visa from tourist to student category because this is against the law and they could face charges.
