The Transport Company will be adding over 3,000 rides per day during this Songkran on the 10th to the 13th of this month. It is expected that there will be at least 200,000 passengers more than usual during these dates. Citizens from all over the country will be returning back to their hometown, plane tickets can be extremely full and expensive during this period, many choose to travel by public land transportation.
There will also be more rides added on other dates for both vans and buses. Starting from the 1st of this month, there will be over 6,900 rides per day with an approximate of 110,000 passengers. The peak days for travel during the Songkran Holiday this year is from the 10th to the 13th of this month. For these 3 days, there will be a total of at least 9,000 rides that will be able to support at least 206,487 passengers per day traveling across the country.
For the 14th to the 17th of this month, extra rides will be added almost as much as the 10th to the 13th with at least 8,000 rides per day. Normally, there is an average of 6,000 rides per day, with an approximate of 2,000 rides added there will be a total of at least 8,000 rides. It is estimated that there will be approximately 164,834 passengers using the services of public land transportation on these dates.
The Transport Company stated that more passengers choose to travel back for work on the 14th to the 17th by van than by bus. There will more vans added but passenger numbers may seem less due to the capacity of vans compared to buses at 14 seats per van.
