A POLICEMAN attached to Pathum Thani provincial police station is under investigation for allegedly refusing to respond to 191 emergency calls from a man who witnessed a crime, the Thai-language Daily News reported today (Oct 9).
The witness said he saw a knife-wielding man chasing people near a school before midnight last night. He called 191 and got the phone number of Klongluang Police Station. The policeman who received his call said: “It’s raining. I cannot get out.”
He called again, and another policeman said: “What do you want me to do? Tell me what I should do now.”
The caller said he was very upset. “What if there was a serious crime taking place?” he asked.
