AN early morning police raid on an unlicensed pub within a hotel in Rama 6 area found over 150 Thai and foreign tourists partying till dawn, Thai News Agency said today (July 12).
At 5 am this morning Crime Suppression Division police raided the first floor of this hotel in Pathumwan district where the pub was located but did not find any teenagers among the customers.
They divided the tourists into groups and checked them for drug use and some who tested positive were sent to Pathumwan police station for further legal action.
Pol. Col. Thongchai Yuket, superintendent of the first division, said there had been complaints from the public about this pub so an investigation was launched and it was discovered that it was operating without a license till early morning.
Most of the tourists had come to this pub from other entertainment centers at around 4 am, he said, adding that he is initially filing charges against the hotel manager for secretly opening an entertainment center without license.
