CHIANG Mai police are looking for a Thai woman who drugged two foreign tourists and stole their credit cards and cash worth nearly one million baht from their hotel rooms, the Thai-language Daily News reported today (August 25, 2018).
In the first case, police found a 56-year-old Indian tourist lying dead on his bed on Monday (August 20, 2018). A hotel receptionist said the victim and a Thai woman checked in together. The man was found dead the next morning.
All his money was stolen.
The next day, a 69-year-old American tourist was found unconscious in his room in another hotel, and all his valuables were stolen. He was taken to a hospital and is recovering.
The tourist said the woman took 9,500 baht in Thai currency and 5,000 US dollars from him.
