A woman finds and hunts down her stolen Vespa. The motorbike was stolen from Nonthaburi Province but was found in Suphan Buri Province. The victim went to search for her vehicle with a screwdriver in her hand before notifying the police. Police Major General Paisan Wongwachiramongkol, Police Colonel Phumirat Kosotwanichpong, and related officials from the Nonthaburi Police and officials from Bang Yai Police arrested Somchai Bunporn 42 years old. The suspect stole a motorbike during the night and was arrested under an arrest warrant issued by the Nonthaburi Court on 5 February 2022.
The Bang Yai Police received notification from Wanwisa Kongsamrong 27 years old on 3 February 2022. Her blue Vespa with a Bangkok license plate was stolen at 5.50 am. The Vespa including accessories is valued at 340,000. The vehicle was stolen while it was parked in front of a rice shop in Bang Yai City Market. The key was left with the motorbike for a short period of time. This was when the thief took the opportunity to start the vehicle and drove away. Witnesses state that the suspect was thin and about 160 centimeters tall wearing a blue shirt and long pants. The man walked to the vehicle and drove away within a minute.
Wanwisa received information from a good citizen that on the 4th the suspect was spotted driving the vehicle in Suphan Buri Province. The victim shared the information with police and together they went to search for the vehicle. The Vespa was found and the suspect had removed the license plate. Officials presented themselves before arresting him on the spot before bringing him to the Bang Yai Police Station. The suspect states he usually steals Honda motorbikes but he noticed the driver left the keys in the Vespa, which is an expensive motorbike. He made the decision to steal the motorbike right as he noticed the opportunity. After stealing it he really liked the vehicle and decided to keep it. The suspect has stolen at least 10 motorbikes in the past.
