Woman rescued after falling on BTS train track

A WOMAN who fainted and fell on the rail track at BTS Rachathevi station early this morning (August 15, 2018) was safely rescued with trains running both sides having to make emergency stops, INN News reported.

BTS tweeted through its account @BTS_SkyTrain that this woman fainted at 8.15 a.m. and fell on to the track of the train heading for Samrong station and for this reason there are still some delays.

At 8.25 a.m. BTS again tweeted that the Sukhumvit line is now back to normal after trains were halted to rescue the woman who fainted, but trains are still arriving slightly late at some stations.

Other Twitter users praised BTS for not covering up this incident and explaining the cause of the delay. Some suggested that BTS should install protective barriers at all stations to prevent this sort of mishaps from occurring.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will late this morning be checking the mass transport in Bangkok by traveling from National Stadium to Bang Wa station where be he will be briefed about rail and boat transport links.

BTS advised passengers that if they feel giddy or weak they should sit down on the floor, after that the staff will come and help them

Regarding the woman who fell, BTS said she is safe although bruised from the fall, and after getting first aid she was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
