Central Bank warns of fake Thai banknotes

THE Bank of Thailand today (August 7, 2018) issued a public warning about the presence of fake 500- and 1,000-baht banknotes recently circulated in the country, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported.

According to the bank, a genuine banknote must have a transparent photo of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun along with transparent watermarks and price numbers, which can be seen when you place the note against sunlight.

Blind people can detect the genuine note by touching the price numbers in Braille alphabets on the banknote.
