A SWEDISH man and his Thai wife filed a complaint with northeastern Chaiyaphum province police that almost half a million baht has disappeared from their bank account and the bank is not being helpful in checking this mysterious loss, Sanook.com reported this morning (Sept. 27, 2018)

Mrs Nonthaphat Saenontad said she and her husband have worked in Sweden for 6 to 7 years now and had deposited money in this Thai bank to use when they come over for holidays and visit their relatives.

However during August 16, 2018 to September 17, 2018 as much as 480,000 baht disappeared from this account, with there being only 680 baht left.

They had called the bank from Sweden but they said the couple had to personally come and file a complaint. They flew in and did so on September 18 and again on September 23, but the bank has not followed up on the mysterious disappearance of the cash nor asked any questions.

“We only want the lost money back, that we chose to deposit our cash with this bank is because we were certain they would keep our money safe. But after this sort of a thing happened, me and my Swedish husband don’t feel good and now greatly distrust this bank,” she said.
